10th Anniversary Event

light up the highlands

Each year, the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League kicks off the holiday season with a completely free community event known as Light Up the Highlands! We are proud to welcome the community to come together and enjoy a big countdown to lighting up our Christmas tree while also enjoying other activities for the whole family. Thanks to our local business sponsors, we are happy to host a snow luge, ice skating, a 360 photo booth, local performances, and of course, pictures with Santa himself! In 2022, the League also introduced the Christmas Market, which hosts local businesses within our community.

Support the community by providing non-perishable food items to the Reverse Food Truck! The Reverse Food Truck is an outreach of NorthPark Presbyterian Church, which seeks to reduce food insecurities in Dallas by collecting donations, both non-perishable and monetary, for our community partners like Vickery Meadow Food Pantry. If you and your family plan to join us for Light Up the Highlands, make sure to bring any donations from your pantry to help our neighbors in need!

We are so thankful for your support! Please consider contributing to Light Up the Highlands this holiday season!

  • The Reverse Food Truck, an outreach of NorthPark Presbyterian Church, will be collecting donations for our community partners like Vickery Meadow Food Pantry. The truck will be at Light Up the Highlands on December 1, 2024 collecting donations.

The most needed items: A variety of spices (cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, coriander, etc.), flour, corn meal, masa harina flour, sugar, cooking oil, can openers, and maxi pads.

100% of your contribution goes toward reversing hunger in Dallas!

  • You are welcome to park at the local Dart station parking lot across the street, in the Lake Highlands Town Center, and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Handicap parking is available in the the Dart Station parking lot immediately across Walnut Hill.

  • Each year we host a virtual raffle to draw a handful of lucky winners that will receive a “Fast Pass,” which allows their entire family to skip all lines.
